Nashville, TN – September 24, 2021 – Once again, apologies for the lateness in publishing Issue 58 — hoping to get back to a good cadence soon! Nintendo has been fairly quiet this year but E3 2021 has been a highlight. Probably the most exciting announcement from their E3 Direct Presentation was for Metroid Dread, a brand new 2D Metroid game! We dive deep and provide some developer commentary on this latest entry in the Metroid series. This game takes place just after the events of Metroid Fusion. Not only is this game the first original 2D Metroid in 19 years, but it is also the first HD Metroid game. As a huge Metroid fan, I’m really excited! I know it means we’re still waiting to hear more about Metroid Prime 4 but this will definitely tie me over til then. Not only did Nintendo announce a bevy of new games at E3, they also announced a new addition to the Nintendo Switch hardware lineup, the Nintendo Switch (OLED model). Be sure to check out our preview for it. Katelyn also has a new Culture Connection article about the Mythical Pokémon, Jirachi. Stay safe and, as always, we have the latest news, video game art, pixel puzzles, reviews, and more packed into each page! Happy Gaming!
