Update: IGN has received an official statement from SEGA confirming the cancellation of Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U.

“SEGA can confirm that the Wii U sku of Aliens: Colonial Marines is no longer in development.”

Update 2Game Informer has received an expanded statement from SEGA regarding the cancellation of Aliens: Colonial Marines.

“We are constantly looking at all areas of our business and in this case have made the decision to not continue development of the Wii U version. Rest assured that we have some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date.”

 Original Story:

According to German website 4Players Sega has informed retailers in Germany that Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U will not be released.  It is still unclear if this is only in Germany or if this will be the case in other regions as well.  Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U is also no longer shown on the US site for Amazon.com.  There has still been no official statement from Sega about the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines but at the moment it seems as if the game will not see a Wii U release.

An official statement by Sega is still out, but after the last few days the release of Aliens Colonial Marines has been questioned on Wii U, seems finally pulled the plug. As we were told from dealer circles, the trade is being informed that the Wii U version will no longer appear. Whether this applies only in this country or in Europe, or also affects the U.S. release, is also currently unclear – to the U.S. Amazon site, the Colonial Marines for Wii U are no longer at least.
