Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Reports Fourth Quarter Fiscal 2008 Financial Results
Company achieves record revenue and net income for fiscal year 2008Signs new long-term agreements with Rockstar Games’ senior creative talent
Provides initial guidance for first quarter and fiscal 2009
New York, NY – December 17, 2008 – Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO) today announced financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended October 31, 2008.Net revenue for the fourth quarter was $323.4 million, compared to $292.6 million for the same period of fiscal 2007. Fourth quarter sales were led by Midnight Club: Los Angeles, NBA 2K9, Grand Theft Auto IV and Carnival Games titles. Distribution revenue rose year over year, as current generation hardware sales were fueled by the strength of new frontline titles, along with robust demand for Wii software.
Net loss for the fourth quarter was $15.0 million or $0.20 per share, compared to a net loss of $7.1 million or $0.10 per share in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007.
The fourth quarter 2008 results include $9.3 million in stock-based compensation expense ($0.12 per share); $5.6 million in professional fees and expenses related to unusual legal matters ($0.07 per share); and $1.6 million in business reorganization costs ($0.02 per share). Results for the fourth quarter of 2007 included $4.8 million in stock-based compensation expense ($0.06 per share); $4.5 million in business reorganization costs ($0.06 per share); and $1.5 million in professional fees and expenses related to unusual legal matters ($0.02 per share).
Non-GAAP net income was $1.6 million or $0.02 per share in the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to $3.4 million or $0.05 per share in the fourth quarter of 2007. SANTA MONICA, CA – DECEMBER 16, 2008 – Monster Jam® is proud to announce that fans will once again be able to “game their way to Vegas” in the Monster Jam: Urban Assault National Tournament, the video game equivalent of the Monster Jam World Finals. The contestants will challenge each other in a series of regional qualifiers using the Monster Jam: Urban Assault game on Wii™ for a chance to compete in Las Vegas on March 28, 2009. The 16 regional qualifying rounds will begin at Houston’s Reliant Stadium on January 3rd and will be followed by 15 more qualifying rounds at the top Monster Jam stadiums across the country. Each of the 16 national qualifiers will host Monster Jam: Urban Assault competitions where four contestants, picked at random from online entrants, will compete against each other on Wii™ gaming platforms in front of the packed stadiums. The eight fastest winners, out of all 16 winners, will then be flown to the Monster Jam World Finals at Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium, where they will compete against each other for the national championship.

SEATTLE – Dec. 12, 2008 – The fifth annual Child’s Play Charity dinner auction held on Tuesday night netted over $200,000 in contributions, as a sold-out crowd of over 400 video game industry leaders and community enthusiasts crowded into the Washington State Convention and Trade Center’s sky bridge to bid on more than 100 lots of gaming memorabilia to support sick children in more than 60 hospitals around the world. Nvidia Corp. announced that 2K Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., has selected Nvidia PhysX technology for use by 2K Games’ studios worldwide.
Nvidia PhysX technology is a pervasive physics solution for designing real-time, real-world effects into interactive entertainment titles, and is another example of how Nvidia GPUs transcend beyond the realm of just graphics rendering.
“We are very impressed with the quality of the PhysX engine and we licensed it so our studios can use this solution early in development,” said Jacob Hawley, technology director for 2K. “Developing games with an interactive story and immersive gameplay remains our number one priority, and aligning with technology leaders like Nvidia allows our teams to concentrate on making great games.”
