Ubisoft has released a trailer revealing the multiplayer content for their upcoming stealth-action game, Splinter Cell: Blacklist.  The trailer shows fairly familiar gameplay mechanics, with the Spies trying to hack into computer consoles using a wide variety of gadgets, and the Mercs trying to stop them, usually by force.  This formula isn’t new to Splinter Cell games, but it has been very enjoyable in the past, so why fix something that isn’t broken?

I am hoping to see some revisions or additions to the gameplay once Blacklist is released, especially concerning the Wii U gamepad.  How will it come into play during multiplayer matches?  I hope Ubisoft doesn’t restrict the multiplayer to online-only, only one person per console because of the single gamepad players will have available.  Maintaining split screen multiplayer would be a selling point for me, even though with Spies vs. Mercs you would have to enforce strict no-screen-cheating rules.  The end of the trailer seems to hint at larger teams than the 2v2 matches that appeared in previous Splinter Cell games, like Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory.  If this is the case, I am excited to see how the multiplayer matches play out with more people on the the field.

This trailer has definitely made me more excited for the release of Splinter Cell: Blacklist by reminding me how fun the cat-and-mouse gameplay in previous iterations, like Chaos Theory, was.  Anyone else excited by this trailer release?
