Jump! Tilt! Roll! Preorder!

We’ve followed the talk about Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD from rumor to confirmation and now on to preorder. Available October 29th both digitally and physically, SEGA is now accepting preorders on the physical release that will also come with sticker sheets featuring AiAi and his friends.

Originally released on the Nintendo Wii in 2006, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is the seventh game in the Super Monkey Ball series. Players must roll a monkey ball (think of a hamster ball but with a charismatic monkey instead) down twisty paths filled with obstacles. Each level has a goal to reach and many bananas to collect along the way. The new HD video above paints a pretty clear picture.

The Wii version featured motion controls that made the game too difficult for many players (including this one), but that appears to have been addressed in the HD version.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD revitalizes this classic title with updated graphics (480p > 1080p at 60fps) and optimized controls for each platform. Motion controls from the original Banana Blitz have been removed in favor of tightened analog controls, making it a breeze to jump in and start rolling through the game’s 100 levels.

The HD release will also feature 100 single-player stages, 10 multi-player mini-games, and online leaderboards that will allow players to compete with others around the world for single-player Time Attack and the all-new Mini-Game Decathalon Score Attack modes.
