We reported in June that Terraria looked to be heading to the Wii U and 3DS later this year, however it’s now been confirmed by developers 505 Games that the game is indeed coming to both platforms, and is exected to be released during the first quarter of 2016.
The popular sandbox video game, which is available on almost every other platform imaginable, will bring touch controls for both crafting and combat to Nintendo’s platforms. In addition to 4-player split-screen, the Wii U version will feature online multiplayer for 4-8 players, while the 3DS version will support 4 players locally.
Additionally, players in attendance of this month’s Gamescon will be treated to a playable version on the 3DS at the Nintendo booth.
