We’re back with another playlist after a short break, and we’ve had some great gaming moments lately. With Breath of the Wild still on our collective mind, we make room to welcome Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to the Switch. Somehow we still find time for our beloved Wii U and 3DS, and even for some mobile adventures. Check out our playlist below and let us know what’s on your gaming agenda this week.
Kaelyn
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch): People are asking me why I haven’t beat this yet and all I can say is, I’m taking my time. While I have finished the majority of the game there are still a few shrines I need to find and places an I want to explore more thoroughly. Now that there are more games to play on the Switch I can slow down a bit in BoTW.
- Puyo Puyo Tetris (Switch): I LOVE Tetris. I’ve been having a lot of fun playing the VS endurance mode and going through the story. Sadly though I’m not a Puyo Puyo fan and I can’t seem to get the hang of the game. Hopefully I’ll get better as I play more.
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch): I just posted my Mario Kart 8 Deluxe review. It’s a great game for the Switch and being able to play on the go is awesome. I also really like being able to play as an Inkling this time around, and the new battle modes are really addictive. I highly recommend checking it out if you own a Switch.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch): I debated picking up this game, even while standing at the counter looking the clerk in the eye as I pulled out my card to pay. I have to say, the little game changes are refreshing and add a little something new to a game I have already raced many hours. My three-year-old son has also been asking to play every day since I brought it home.
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch): I probably have progressed the least of anyone here but I’m still over 35 hours into the game. Now I understand Dug….squirrel!!!!!
Alex
- TumbleSeed (Switch): A cool little indie title that will simultaneously relax you and make make you want to yell at your TV screen. Be sure to check out my TumbleSeed review to see what I mean!
- Pokémon GO (Mobile): Now that the rain is subsiding and the weather is getting nicer, I decided to go for a walk to enjoy the great outdoors. Besides snagging a few gyms for a day, I mostly spent my time restocking my pokeball count. While I don’t play Pokémon GO daily anymore, I still find it fun to boot up every once in awhile to encourage me to go outside.
Trevor
- Just Dance 2017 (Wii U): Breaking quite a sweat!
- Kirby’s Epic Yarn (Wii): Jenn & I have been enjoying this game in two-player co-op. It’s hard to resist cute little Kirby.
- Mario Kart 8 (Wii U): Didn’t want to feel left out from all the new owners of the Deluxe version. For those not ready to double dip for the new battle mode, MK8 is still a great game on its hardware of origin.

- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch): Really enjoying the Deluxe version of my favorite Mario Kart game. The visuals have seen a nice upgrade, the menus have some new shortcuts and the battle mode is top-notch.
- TumbleSeed (Switch): It’s a very unique game with a unique way of controlling the main character. The music is definitely captivating while also being relaxing.

- Fast RMX (Switch): So, after blazing through almost 100 hours worth of free time with Breath of the Wild (with more to explore through as well), I pondered what would be the next game that’d grace my Switch. Fast RMX immediately caught my eye, and I haven’t regretted my decision to impulse buy it. As a loving nod to F-Zero, Fast RMX gives you the sense of speed and high-tech atmosphere that would be present in Nintendo’s well-loved futuristic racer (sans the colorful characters, of course). For a budget title, Fast RMX delivers a great package, even if I feel it’s not as tight as what I’d expect from an F-Zero entry. Still, this is one racing game that makes me glad that I can take it on the go and turn some heads both on screen and those who happen to notice I have my Switch out in public.
Matt
- Kamiko (Switch): Recently reviewed Kamiko, a small adventure game. Good fun, but very short-lived.
- Puyo Puyo Tetris (Switch): I’m actually in the midst of reviewing this one, so I can’t say much for now.
Jemma
- Super Mario Run (mobile): I’m still really enjoying this game, playing every other day, mostly for some Toad Rally. I love collecting those Toads!
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch): Mario Kart is one of my favorite franchises and this enhanced version of Mario Kart 8 is just fantastic. I love the new Battle Mode, but just having this big and beautiful game on a portable device is pure joy.
- LEGO City Undercover (Switch): I’ve been waiting for this release for some time, since I really enjoyed the original Wii U version but always wished for a two-player option. Despite lacking much in the way of new content, this fun port does bring updated visuals and new vehicles – plus that all-important multiplayer feature I’d been craving for. It’s still a very entertaining ride and is highly recommended in my LEGO City Undercover review.
- Team Kirby Clash Deluxe (3DS eShop): This free-to-play title caught my attention during the week, and I haven’t spent a lot of time with it, but so far it’s really fun – a bit like an all-Kirby Smash Bros. adventure, with the ability to level up as you rescue the kingdom.
- Puyo Puyo Tetris (Switch): Just the demo version for me, and, like Kaelyn, I’m much more familiar with Tetris, though I’m trying hard to practice my Puyo Puyo skills.

I am level 25 in Pokemon Go, almost level 26, I don’t play as much as I used to but I still play. I have really been enjoying Mario Kart 8. As far as Legend of Zelda: breath of the Wild, I have no idea because I have gotten so far off course I have no idea where to go to get back on.
