MotoGP 08 Delayed
“The Wii version is running late production wise and it will not ship at the end of next month with the other SKUs. There are some improvements from the PS2, in particular the control mechanisms with the Wiimote, but It is true that there is no online play.” - Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development
IGN Nintendo Voice Chat podcast Summary: Nintendo Conference Embargoed Until Next Week?
Just wanted to point something out from this podcast. In the question section of the podcast, Mat stats that the Nintendo conference later this week will probably be embargoed until next week.
DS rumors
- Nikkei spilled the beans on the potential of a future Nintendo DS
- Rumors have always been out there, but Nikkei is like the Wall Street Journal of Japan, so when they say something, you kind of listen.
- Updated version of Nintendo DS, adding a second touch screen, bigger screens SD card and mp3 support. Suggested faster Wi-Fi and alluded that Nintendo wants to have more connectivity like Safeco Field
- Also saying there’s a camera, Craig says the camera could also be used at the Wii’s i-Toy.
- Another theory from Craig: Save files off the Wii to the DS -> Wii’s storage solution. Bozon also thinks they’ll open up the SD card, like what Vicarious has been doing.
- Backward compatibility could be a problem with bigger screens

Nintendo UK Comments On DS Rumors (UPDATE)
“Nintendo has made no such announcement and will not comment on rumour and speculation.” - Nintendo UK
Just a little update about this weeks Nintendo shows in Japan and American on Thursday and Friday of this week. If Nintendo shows off their stuff Thursday morning in Japan, we can expect some type of news after 10 Wednesday night. We will be up and ready to see.
Update: I just found this over at MTV multiplayer, they are thinking on the same lines as we are about the DS announcement coming Wednesday.
If there’s truth to the Nikkei report, we’ll likely know on Wednesday, when Nintendo president Satoru Iwata delivers the company’s annual fall presentation. Last year, the event included the blockbuster announcement that the next console sequel to Japan’s hottest franchise, “Monster Hunter,” is coming to the Wii.
Tomb Raider Underworld Coming Nov. 18th
Eidos Interactive has offically announced the November 18th, 2008 ship date for the highly anticipated, upcoming entry to the illustrious Tomb Raider franchise, Tomb Raider: Underworld, throughout North America. The game will ship to retailers simultaneously for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and PC.
Tomb Raider: Underworld marks the first game in this flagship series that is designed specifically for next generation consoles. Lara Croft uncovers proof of the existence of the mythical hammer of the Norse god Thor, a weapon rumored to have the power to smash mountains into valleys and destroy the gods themselves.
