Happy Valentines Day!?!

Posted by justin On February 28, 2007

I’m sorry this is late coming but it was a story I thought was worth sharing. My in-law’s came to visit me over Christmas and of course the Wii was involved. My father-in-law hasn’t really enjoyed a video game since he bought a Sega Genesis for the kids. Well i showed off a few games (I learned to start with other games before Wii sports otherwise the other games get left out) and then we moved on to Wii sports. It was an immediate success. He loved bowling and golf the most. On Christmas eve my wife, mother-in-law, and I all went to do some shopping and left my father-in-law at home. We left him playing the Wii and found him playing the Wii. By the end of the day over 13 hours had been logged on the Wii and most of it was him by himself!!! He was a pro in 3 sports! All i heard afterwards was how much he wanted to get one. Well on valentines day we got a call from him saying guess what i got for valentines day?? Truthfully not knowing we had no idea what could make him this excited, and yep you guessed it his wife bought him a Wii!

Square-Enix Party in May

Posted by justin On February 28, 2007

IGN Wii is reporting on a Squar-Enix Party to be held in Japan this coming May.  Here are the details:

Square Enix will be holding a big gaming event for the Japanese this May, the latest issue of Famitsu reveals. The Square Enix Party 2007 will be held on 5/12 and 5/13 at the Makuhari Messe, just outside of Tokyo. Admission is free, although you’ll have to, of course, arrange for your own transportation.

May seems far away, but it will be here before we know it.  This news is almost generic, but I’m sure there will be plenty of Nintendo news at the event given their close relationship with Square-Enix.

I guess I will have to settle with the little reminder I put on my wii calender on my Birthday.

Play Import GC games on Wii

Posted by justin On February 28, 2007

Cubed3 is reporting on a method that allows import Gamecube games to be played on the Wii without a modchip. I don’t know how one would figure this out, but here are the steps to load an NTSC disc on a PAL Wii system (these are the steps for PAL systems, not for the American Wii systems):

  1. Shove in a PAL GameCube disk
  2. Enter the Disk Channel section
  3. Point your Wii Remote at the start button but DON’T start the game just yet.
  4. Press the eject button on the Wii then, after a second or so, click on the on-screen start button on the Wii.
  5. The speedy bit: the moment your Wii chucks out the PAL disk, quickly whip it out and shove in the NTSC disk (you have to be VERY quick).
  6. The game should boot up as normal.

The technique takes a little while from what C3 say, but they say it works just fine. For everyone with a PAL Wii—check it out and see if it works. Let us know in the comments.

Wii Goes Enterprise!

Posted by justin On February 28, 2007

Nintendo was really not lieing when they stated that their systems are reaching new audiences that were once uninterested. Specifically the Wii, which today has met unbreaking ground in the console champ grasp against competitors such as Sony, Microsoft, and Infinium(HAhaHh). Today the Wii has reached incredible feet, similarily to the NDS Lite being used in schools, and museums, the Wii not only is being used by libraries but also buisiness (sorry I’m a bad speller). Maybe this is why the Wii remotes are all being sold as faster then they hit the shelves.

Furthermore some subsidaries in this specific company, Colgate-Palmolive are using the Wii and its remotes for presentations, which indeed is very interesting.

Posted by justin On February 28, 2007

amazon10min.jpg

Amazon recently replenished their stock of Wii on their site. But, as usuall the Wii’s were gone within ten minuets of being posted, which leads me to ask this: Why can’t Nintendo meet the supply? Also i was at the near EBGAMES today and i asked for my controler, before me were 18 people ahead! Thats eighteen people who are also waiting for wii controllers on a list!!! Twleve were waiting in for nunchuks! Is the Wii some sort of Nintendo Crack or something?
